NEO-ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Protesters have been stationed outside of the ASCII Augmentation Clinic in Sector A of Neo-Anchorage for the past 24 hours following an announcement by the CEO of SaharaCorp’s Neo-Anchorage branch. In the statement, Laura Whitaker announced a full repeal of former CEO Alan Whitaker’s restrictions on “invasive” augmentations. CEO Laura Whitaker stated, “The actions of my father have led to suffering for many people and androids in our community. I will not be the same way.” Alan Whitaker was known as an advocate for the Anti-Android movement and invested millions into AA organizations targeting sentient machine life and trans-humanists. The restrictions proposed included bans on hair, skin, organ, and tissue augmentations. This was in an effort to prevent potential patients from receiving what was referred to as “cosmetic” operations, allowing the clinic to provide only artificial limbs for amputees, and memory upload services. Ms. Whitaker continues, “I am repealing the previous policy restricting access to potentially life saving augmentations, an-...and that I and my late father have had augmentations. Thank you.” The announcement ended shortly after. Following the passing of Mr. Whitaker in 2043, Laura Whitaker inherited the Neo-Anchorage branch of SaharaCorp.
